I have a 65-year-old mom who lives with my family. Though she has a caregiver, I see to it that she can still maintain her sense of independence through the use of assistive devices. These devices are big help really. One of the devices that she enjoys now is her Just5 Easyphone, which both works as a communication and safety device as this is also equipped with PERS. With this, she can easily connect with the outside world and keep herself safe at the same time. This time, I think I would also consider getting her this Microsoft health vault.

Assistive technology can be very useful… it can enable seniors to remain living safely and independently in their own home. Combined with in home senior care, most seniors can age in place and remain in the community, living independently and safely.

As an occupational therapist, I recommend assistive technology products to my clients on a daily basis. Everything from raised toilet seats to walkers to wheelchairs to elderly medical alerts.
